Blood Moon 28 September 2015

It was early Monday morning, 4:21 AM, when I took a picture of this rare occurrence, where a super moon (where the moon is in its closest proximity to the earth in its elliptical orbit) and a blood moon (total, total lunar eclipse) got together and had a party.

At this stage, the moon was fully eclipsed by the earth and shone red through the camera lens.

This was quite reminiscent of the eclipse that I had witnessed on the 15th of June 2015:
Mighty Moon, Alone

Don’t you just love the night sky!?
